It will meet Fridays from 5:00 to 6:00 starting August 5. He gave me a CD with the thirteen songs we\u2019ll prepare. It\u2019s quite a diverse selection with pieces by <a title=\"Albert King\" href=\"http:\/\/www.allmusic.com\/artist\/albert-king-mn0000617844\">Albert King<\/a> (&#8220;Crosscut Saw&#8221;) and <a title=\"B.B. King\" href=\"http:\/\/www.allmusic.com\/artist\/bb-king-mn0000059156\">B.B. King<\/a> (&#8220;The Thrill is Gone&#8221;) as well as by musicians I don\u2019t know. I\u2019m really psyched. This is very timely and is just what I\u2019ve been wanting. Jim had been trying to start an ensemble for some time. Some of the students were in a previous jazz ensemble with Jim.<\/p>\n<p>We spent most of my lesson going over aspects of the first three songs we will work on. He gave me a chart for <a title=\"Otis Rush\" href=\"http:\/\/www.allmusic.com\/artist\/otis-rush-mn0000894956\">Otis Rush<\/a>\u2019s \u201cFeel So Bad.\u201d I plan to take the CD on our upcoming road trip to listen to at least a couple of times.
