You\u2019d never guess he was that old by the way he walks on stage and conducts.<\/p>\n<p>We heard Maurice Ravel\u2019s <em>Le tombeau de Couperin, Suite for Orchestra<\/em> Marc-Andr\u00e9 Dalbavie\u2019s <em>Flute Concerto<\/em> (2006) and <a title=\"B\u00e9la Viktor J\u00e1nos Bart\u00f3k (March 25, 1881 \u2013 September 26, 1945)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/B%C3%A9la_Bart%C3%B3k\">B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k<\/a>\u2019s <em><a href=\"http:\/\/cso.org\/TicketsAndEvents\/EventDetails.aspx?eid=2869\">Bluebeard\u2019s Castle<\/a>, Opera in One Act<\/em> (1918). The Ravel was familiar, but the other two were new to me. I was struck by the familiar pattern of the woman trying to find out about the man she loves, to get him to reveal his secrets to her, to open up the doors to his (well-defended) castle.
